  4. Unless a team has its own clothing/fancy dress to link in with a themed vehicle, the wearing of event T-shirts/sweat shirts are compulsory at :
    • The start line - Saturday 13th September 2008,
    • The Prize-Giving Dinner, Café de Paris, 72 Rue Royale, 62100 Calais Friday 19th September 2008.
Forfeit of 100 points per team member on each occasion.
Although not compulsory, entrant's own team T-shirts and/or sweat shirts (as opposed to everyday non-rally attire) are encouraged at all other times throughout the event. Two event T-shirts supplied per vehicle entry for the driver and co-driver. Additional T-shirts may be purchased by arrangement from the Organiser pre-event.

  5. Every vehicle must carry the driver's national flag, regardless if it's a tiny "top-of-window" flag or a giant ensign 10ft tall.  I have to say BIG UN's are much more in keeping with Landy owners but can also quite literally be a drag as they will considerably add to your mpg.  How about a compromise - a large version for the start and finish of the event, and a LITTLE 'UN in between?  It's entirely up to you; as long as it can be seen, that's all that matters.  Forfeit of 100 points per day - best bring a spare window flag or two!

  6. Vinyl lettering/stickers/logos on both sides of your vehicle clearly proudly declaring which charity your team is raising funds for. This is a Charity Drive after all, so please let the world know which charity or good cause your crew is supporting. This is so important for the event.  Forfeit - CAN'T START EVENT!

  7. It is compulsory to carry on board a digital camera. This is essential for gaining points during some of the tasks. It matters not what quality your camera is, so long as it is possible to (a) see your photo on the back of the camera, or (b) it must be possible to download the image on the Organiser's laptop computer. Forfeit of 100 points

  8. All vehicles must have a European (EU or CE) band CB radio fitted. Besides being great fun, CB's are also a great safety feature. NOTE: Operating UK band systems on the Continent is illegal. If unclear about the systems and bands, please ask the Organisers for clarification and assistance. Forfeit - CAN'T START EVENT!

  9. At least one person (driver or co-driver) must have a mobile phone, two are even better, the number/s to be given to the Organiser at Registration in Calais 13th September 2008. Safety-wise, a mobile phone is essential en route. Forfeit - CAN'T START EVENT!

  10. Vehicle towing points: If a vehicle's towing points are deemed to be inadequate or dangerous   i.e. weak towing eyes or rusty mounts, your vehicle will fail Scrutineering and will be disqualified. Forfeit - CAN'T START EVENT!

  11. Most important of all - it is a golden rule that you do not forget to bring with you a sense of humour! Never forget this is a holiday, so leave your road rage at home and enjoy yourselves!  Worse still can be conflict amongst your own crew. Travelling 2,000+ miles through 10 countries, your navigator is bound to get the map-reading wrong at times - so what? Similarly, so one of you messed up in the last task?  Same thing, don't worry! With so many points on offer for a variety of tasks, it's not worth falling out over a few lousy points. Someone famous once said "It's the taking part that counts, not the winning." You know what? They are dead right!  Enjoy the event for what it is - an excuse for a 7-day 10-country party! No forfeit whatsoever, but it'll be you paying the price if you don't remember these prophetic words!
NOT COMPULSORY BUT ENCOURAGED:

THE ORGANISERS RETAIN THE RIGHT TO AMEND OR ALTER THE ITINERARY, EVENT INFORMATION OR RULES & REGULATIONS AS NECESSARY.
